Statement on Our Support of LGBTQIA+

With the re-election of Trump by a sizeable proportion of the United States, we feel it’s more important than ever for us to speak up about our support of LGBTQIA+ rights.

It goes without saying that Crossed Wires is fully in support of the LGBTQIA+ community, especially since James and Jae are both members; we’re both bisexual in a loving queer relationship (with each other!), and Jae is a trans woman.

Above all else, the content we produce aims to be uplifting with the goal of moving things forward for all of humanity.

Our live streams are places of fun, but we’re never afraid to discuss hard topics on-air, especially when things rile one, or both of us, up.

Similarly, our podcasts aim to look at technology in an ethical way. For example, we’ve looked into the issues of AI in education, the affects of crypto currency on the environment, and even the environmental impact of technology in general. We will continue to ask these probing questions while also having fun discussions along the way.

Our streams, podcasts, and communities will remain a safe-space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and marginalized communities.

James and Jae are not perfect, and we’ll make mistakes. After all, we are just two people trying to do something good and we hope we show you that we do care for the poor, the marginalized, and all those that the Far Right wish to silence.

This is by no means a finished statement, as this is a topic that will continue to develop and evolve. However, we hope this shows you an expression of our deep feelings.

Community is important, technology is an amazing thing. After all, technology is what brought Jae and James together and has allowed our long-distance relationship to flourish despite a distance of 3,000+ miles.

Lastly, if you support Trump, Musk, or any far-right ideologies, we would respectfully ask that you consider if joining our communities is appropriate.

Being blunt, we do not wish to be engaged with those who wish to silence and further disenfranchise marginalized communities and will operate a zero-tolerance policy on any hate fuelled speech or attacks on us or our community.
